A Lighthouse Adventure Where God’s Light Shines Bright!

This summer, children are invited to set sail on an unforgettable adventure at Discovery on Adventure Island Vacation Bible Camp (VBC)! Over four exciting mornings, Explorers will journey through a tropical island filled with glowing lanterns, hidden clues, fun activities, and meaningful Bible lessons—all while discovering how God’s light shines in the world and in their own lives.

Based on Cokesbury’s Adventure Island Vacation Bible Camp curriculum, this program combines storytelling, music, crafts, games, and hands-on exploration into a fun and faith-filled experience for children of all ages.

Event Details

Who Can Attend?

Explorers (Students)

• Ages 4–12 (anyone is welcome, you do not need to be members of the church)
• 3-year-olds welcome if fully potty trained
• Older students are invited to participate as Junior Lighthouse Keepers
• Activities and lessons will be grouped by age level

Volunteers & Staff

Our program is staffed by caring adult volunteers with recent CHRI background checks. Responsible high school students are also welcome to assist as volunteer helpers.

What Will Children Experience

Each day, Explorers will follow clues from Professor Lumanari’s Journal and learn from Beacon the Puffin, Adventure Island’s cheerful lighthouse guide. Together, children will search for the mysterious Infinity Lanterns that never go out.

Through stories from both the Old and New Testaments, children will discover:

• How God’s light shines in the lives of Bible characters
• Ways they can reflect God’s love in their own lives
• The importance of kindness, service, friendship, and faith

Daily activities include:

• Bible lessons and storytelling
• Music and singing
• Crafts and creative projects
• Games and team-building activities
• Outdoor adventures and exploration

Our theme verse comes from Isaiah 60:1:

“Arise! Shine! Your light has come; the Lord’s glory has shone upon you.”

Registration & Cost

$20 per child
Maximum $40 per family

The registration fee helps cover supplies and snacks. Financial assistance may be available upon request.
