Advent Day 11:
Exploring Advent Hope
Think about hope:
At the beginning of Advent we focus on hope. Sometimes it is fun to see how certain words in one language will help us to understand words in the other language. One example of this is the word esperar, which means "to wait." Esperar also means "to hope." So... in Spanish, hoping and waiting are the same word.
This is very similar to how the Bible talks about hoping and waiting.
Romans 8:25 says, "But if we hope for what we do not see, we await for it with patience. Do you think that is because the things we hope for don't always come to us right away?
What connections can you make between waiting and hoping? Perhaps there is something specific your family is hoping for or waiting for. Ask your family and friends - What does it feel like to wait? What does it feel like to hope?
Family Time:
Draw a picture of the things you hope for.
Fill in the box with your hopes and dreams.
