“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve.

You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.

You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.

You only need a heart full of grace.  A soul generated by love”

– Martin Luther King, Jr.

Opportunities Centered around Sunday Worship

  • Music Opportunities: Share your love of music with the congregation! Join our pop-up choir, play the bells, or offer your unique musical talent during a Sunday service. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or perform, your contributions enhance our worship experience.
  • Kids Club/Nursery: Help shape young hearts and minds by assisting our Children’s Director as a classroom or nursery helper. Your time and care provide a nurturing environment for kids to learn and grow. Volunteers are needed weekly, September through June.
  • Coffee Hour Hosting: Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere by hosting coffee hour. Set up, provide snacks, and clean up with support always available from the Church Support team. A simple yet impactful way to connect with others!
  • Rides to Church:  Volunteer to give rides to church on Sundays and make a meaningful impact by helping local attendees who may not have transportation join us for worship and fellowship. Your kindness can bring neighbors together and strengthen our community!

Helping Those in Need

  • Sonshine Soup Kitchen: Share kindness by joining our team on the fourth Wednesday of the month to prepare and distribute meals at the Sonshine Kitchen in Derry, NH. A rewarding experience that warms hearts and fills stomachs.
  • Common Ground Sandwiches: On the first Sunday of the month, after Sunday worship, join us in making PB&J sandwiches to support Common Ground in Haverhill, MA. A small gesture with a big impact, delivered to those in need every month.
  • Food Pantry Deliveries: Help ensure food security by packing and delivering donations to local food pantries. Join us on the first Sunday of each month to make a tangible difference.
  • Food Donations: Drop off non-perishable items anytime to support local food pantries. We have a shopping cart outside our office door on Main Street for your drop-off convenience. Your generosity helps sustain those in need, and we take care of the organizing and delivery.
  • Special Collections: Participate in special drives throughout the year, such as blankets for the homeless or holiday gifts for local families in need. Look out for announcements and be part of these heartfelt efforts.

Community Based Programs

  • Event Support: Take the lead or lend a helping hand at one of our exciting events! From Spaghetti Dinners and Pancake Breakfasts to the Chili Cook-Off and Spring Festival, there's a role for everyone. Be a part of bringing these cherished traditions to life and fostering community spirit.
  • Yard Sale Staffing: Be a part of our biannual Townwide Yard Sale by staffing the Comfort Station. From baking goods to working shifts or helping with setup, your efforts will support this community favorite.
  • Scarecrow Setup: Join Atkinson’s festive spirit by helping to create our annual Scarecrow scene. A fun, one-time commitment at the end of September that brings joy to the community.

Church Operational Opportunities

  • Welcome Notes for New Residents: Be the friendly face of our church! Pick up ready-made cards and materials from Lovejoy Hall to welcome new Atkinson residents. All supplies are provided for this meaningful outreach.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Adopt and care for one of our gardens (pollinator, memorial, parsonage, or sanctuary) or pitch in to keep our grounds beautiful. Whether you have a green thumb or just want to help, your efforts make a visible impact.
  • Stewardship Campaign: Join our annual Fall campaign to engage with the community. Help with envelope stuffing, phone banking, or other outreach activities to strengthen church support.
  • Flower Campaigns: Beautify our church by organizing flower programs for Easter, Christmas, and weekly altar arrangements. Your creativity brings joy and reflection to our congregation.
