Did you miss church on Sunday? Here is some basic info for your family, so that you can carry on the discussion during the week at home.

What happened during the Children’s Message?

The church service yesterday was all about the bells! Jane Goodwin called up the kids and anyone else who felt like trying out the bells for the first time. She showed us how to ring the bells and then led us in a tiny song! We did it! Starting this fall, Jane will be leading a Family Bells Choir, and kids are more than welcome. The group will perform at the 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service. Stay tuned for more info!

What did we do at Tuthill House?

We continued with our Kindness Rocks project. We finished painting all the rocks and touched up a few from last week.

We also brainstormed more messages that we could write on the rocks. Here are some of the ideas so far:

God is everywhere.

You are a rock star!

Don’t give up!

Ride some waves.

Believe in yourself.

Wait! What is the Kindness Rocks Project? Why are we doing this?

Here is a link to a video that explains it, and a link to their website:

What if you miss a week or two this summer?

It is ok! Come when you can this summer! We share all the rocks and help each other out at each step. Join us next week as we begin writing messages on rocks. We would love to have you!

How can we pray about this?

You can make up your own prayers using this to start:

Dear God, Summer is a great time to be with family and friends; and you! Thank you for our beautiful weather and time to relax and enjoy your creation. We pray that you will work through us to create inspiring messages that we can put on our rocks. We pray for people in our town that are sad and may need a little boost from our messages. Please be with them. Amen.

What can we read from the Bible that relates to our day?

Here is an uplifting psalm about worshipping with music:

Psalm 150 Common English Bible (CEB)

Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his sanctuary!
Praise God in his fortress, the sky!
2 Praise God in his mighty acts!
Praise God as suits his incredible greatness!
3 Praise God with the blast of the ram’s horn!
Praise God with lute and lyre!
4 Praise God with drum and dance!
Praise God with strings and pipe!
5 Praise God with loud cymbals!
    Praise God with clashing cymbals!
6 Let every living thing praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

Here is a reading from Exodus that speaks of God working through people to do creative work.  Read before and after this passage for a broader understanding:

30-35 Moses told the Israelites, “See, God has selected Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. He’s filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability, and know-how for making all sorts of things, to design and work in gold, silver, and bronze; to carve stones and set them; to carve wood, working in every kind of skilled craft. And he’s also made him a teacher, he and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. He’s gifted them with the know-how needed for carving, designing, weaving, and embroidering in blue, purple, and scarlet fabrics, and in fine linen. They can make anything and design anything.”

-Exodus 35:30-35 The Message (MSG)
