From Tuthill House to Yours
Summer Kids' Club Week 4
August 5, 2018

Did you miss church on Sunday? Here is some basic info for your family, so that you can carry on the discussion during the week at home.
What happened during the Children’s Message?
Mrs. Cole talked to the adults about the upcoming Stewardship campaign. Rally Sunday is not that far away and it is time to start considering how much you can pledge to the church. Remember that when you give money to the church, some of it goes to programing for the kids! She talked about some exciting new things that are coming up this fall for the kids – and the adults. There will be new curriculum in place for kids grades PK-5 that is based on the same readings and themes that the adults will be hearing about during the service. That way, kids and parents can better connect and discuss. The teens will have new curriculum as well. Also in the works is a youth group for teens that will be done with two other churches, and a missions-based trip. Finally, we hope to have more intergenerational activities, such as an Advent Workshop for all ages, where kids and adults can make meaningful crafts and do activities together. There is a lot to look forward to this fall!
What did we do at Tuthill House?
We almost finished the rocks! We added coats of sealant and a few more messages. Next week will be the last week for preparing the rocks at Tuthill House. Then, on August 19, we will meet at Tuthill at the beginning of the service, at 9:00, and take the kids to a few locations in town to hide some of the rocks! We will need a permission slip in advance for all the kids that want to go. See Patty for a paper copy, or the e-news for an electronic copy.
Wait! What is the Kindness Rocks Project? Why are we doing this?
Here is a link to a video that explains it, and a link to their website.
What if you miss a week or two this summer?
It is ok! Come when you can this summer! We share all the rocks and help each other out at each step. We would love to have you!
How can we pray about this?
Here is the prayer that you could say to get started. Feel free to add your own thoughts as well:
Dear God, Thank you for our beautiful summer weather and time with our families. We pray for all our church friends who are away on vacation. Please keep them safe. We pray that everyone will be ready on Rally Sunday to start a great, new year at Tuthill House. We also pray that our rocks will bring joy and kindness to people. Amen.
What can we read from the Bible that relates to our day?
1 John 3:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
John 13:34-35 New International Version (NIV)
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
