September is a month of transition at Atkinson Congregational Church — from summer to fall, from one chapter to the next. Each Sunday brings something meaningful, and we invite you to join us in person or via livestream as we move through this special season together.
Sunday, September 7 at 10AM
This Sunday is dedicated to celebrating Pastor Jim’s retirement. After years of steady leadership, thoughtful preaching, and compassionate care, we’ll gather to honor his service with a special worship service, followed by a luncheon in his honor. All are invited to attend both the service and the luncheon, which will begin immediately after worship. The service will also be available via livestream.
Sunday, September 14 at 10:30AM (Kids Kickoff begins at 10AM)
September 14 marks our first Sunday with Rev. Paige and the start of our new 10:30AM worship time. We’re excited to begin this next chapter together and invite everyone to be part of this special morning. Whether you’ve been part of our congregation for years or are looking for a church home, you are warmly welcomed. Worship will be streamed live at 10:30AM.
It’s also Kids Club Kickoff Sunday, with a fun, faith-filled program for children of all ages. Festivities begin at 10AM with crafts and games in Lovejoy Hall, followed by a special children’s message and Backpack Blessing during worship. Afterward, kids will head to Tuthill House for snacks, games, and more. Nursery care will be available, and all are encouraged to attend. To register your child for the 2025-2026 year, click here.
Sunday, September 21 at 10:30AM
Worship continues with Rev. Paige leading us in this next step in our shared ministry. Kids Club will meet from 10:30–11:30AM, running alongside worship to provide a welcoming, engaging space for children to explore faith through age-appropriate activities. Worship will be streamed live at 10:30AM.
Sunday, September 28 at 10:00AM: Honoring the Past, Welcoming the Future
We’ll close the month with a joint New Covenant Yoking Service between Atkinson Congregational Church and Hampstead Congregational Church, held at Hampstead’s church. This special service marks a formal covenant between the two congregations and Rev. Paige as our shared interim pastor. There will be no worship or Kids Club at Atkinson that day. Kids are invited to attend a special Kids Club at Hampstead's church. All are invited to stay for a luncheon at 11AM, immediately following the 10AM worship. The service will be streamed live from Hampstead for those joining remotely.
