ADULT FAITH FORMATION

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.”  — Colossians 3:16

ADULTS

Grow in faith and go into the world equiped to serve.

Whether you are a preschooler or a grandparent, new to our church, or a longtime member, it is an exciting time to learn and grow at Atkinson Congregational Church. Along with our new pastor, children and adults alike are stepping onto new paths, as we all explore what it means to be a Christian, what it means to be part of a UCC church, and how we can grow together in faith.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Adults are welcome to join in a Bible study of the Book of Romans, every other Sunday in the Tuthill House library, from 8:45-9:45 am.

BE THE CHURCH

Starting on January 7, our entire congregation will begin to learn about the UCC Be the Church initiative. Each Sunday, we will focus on one of the Be the Church statements. We will consider scriptural basis for each, and enjoy some hands-on activities along the way.

EXPLORING FAITH SERIES

In January, one evening a week, teens and adults are invited to a weekly class led by Pastor Jim Thomas. It is not a bible Study class; everyone is welcome whether they are a bible expert, or aren’t sure where their bible is! Through a short video and small group discussions, we will explore a different faith topic each week, such as: trusting God when things seem hopeless; if our insecurities affect our faith; forgiveness; and more.
